Human Service Club

Starting in 1993, the Human Service Club has been an active part of not just Lake Land, but also the entire community. Currently acting under the advisement of Linda Gates and Helen Hendren, the club participates in various activities chosen by club members.

Though the club usually consists of around 12 to 15 members, Hendren described the club as "small but mighty."

Recently, the club took a couple of weeks to collect items for the local homeless and animal shelters. After collecting items, the club visited the homeless shelter and received a tour. The club also visited the animal shelter where they played and interacted with the animals.

The club not only benefits the community, but the experiences the students gain from being involved in the club are great as well. Many members have gone on to work in human services or have carried the experienced learned with the club

New members are more than welcome to join and the club is open to all majors. The club's first meeting of the semester was on Jan. 20 so if you would still like to join, it's not too late.

The Human Service Club is definitely a fun and impressive experience that members will remember throughout their lives.
