What matters to us may not necessarily be a big deal to those who aren't used to such a liberated lifestyle. Somewhere in the traffic of our hectic schedules, we have to understand that the United States isn't the only country on this desolate rock.
So here's my question: What does the rest of the world think of America? The answer is coming to Lakeland in October in the form of a groundbreaking film. "The Listening Project", winner of Best Documentary in four acclaimed film festivals, will be shown here on campus on Oct. 8.
"The Listening Project" follows a team of intrepid Americans across the world as they seek the answer to the aforementioned question. All in all, fourteen different countries are visited and hundreds of people are interviewed.
The showing is a great opportunity for anyone interested in witnessing something truly innovative and intellectually challenging. The views presented are definitely eye opening. Who knows? This pioneering documentary just might change the way you think.
In the words of news anchor Katty Kay of BBC World News America, "'The Listening Project' is very well worth everyone going to see."
